WebAbacus provides client services from initial pre-sales, through implementation, to on-going support and strategic consultancy.
Below is a summary of the various categories of consultancy that we offer:
Implementation Process
WebAbacus can be provided as both an ASP hosted solution (Software as a Service (SaaS)), or as locally installed software. Both options make use of exactly the same software, and can use the same data collection methodologies. As such, you can switch between a hosted or licensed solution at anytime, and still retain your historical data.
Our implementation process is designed to ensure that WebAbacus is tailored to your needs, rather than you having to adjust to the tools functionality. Below is a quick summary of our multi-stage process:
- 1. Preparation / Briefing Phase
- We would sit down with various stakeholders to understand how the web site fits into their business’s overall objectives.
- We then work with their development team / agency to understand the site architecture so that an appropriate data collection methodology can be implemented – providing a balance between business need and technical difficulty. Typically, this involves a tagging workshop to go over the WebAbacus tag code, but can also be to discuss the deployment of network sniffing technology (such as those provided by Beatbox or ClickStream technologies) or the management of raw web logs.
- The above requirements are documented in version 1.0 of the Service Definition Document (SDD), which details the exact requirements, dependencies, responsibilities, contact details, risks, and access details. Once complete, we request that the client sign-off the document before progressing on to the full implementation.
- Within the initial Service Definition Document, the WebAbacus consultant will make suggestions for additional custom reports, or data capture recommendations. These are entirely optional and are intended to help clients get the most out of their web analytics.
- 2a. Implementation Phase One
- We work with customers development team / agency to ensure that appropriate data capture is implemented, and to ensure that we can deliver the required reporting metrics.
- Once the data capture methodology has been deployed we conduct a data audit (usually a spot check of key pages, and a series of sample visits from various browsers and IP addresses) to ensure that the data is being captured in a meaningful way. We also partner with Maxamine to provide automated site scanning if required.
- Before building additional custom reports, we conduct an initial round of user training, and then request that clients sign-off the initial phase of the implementation. This ensures that bespoke reports are created on a solid foundation, and that clients have a full understanding of how the reports and metrics are calculated.
- 2b. Implementation Phase Two (optional)
- Following the successful completion of phase one, the WebAbacus consultants will implement any additional custom reports, as defined in the Service Definition Document. Typically, there are also addtional requirements, and so the Service Definition Document is updated to reflect these changes.
- If the requirements of the project have changed, then additional work may be required. If this is the case, then it will be scoped, and sign-off will be requested before the reports are implemented. This ensures that the client is fully aware of all costs and time scales associated with the implementation.
- Clients will receive training, and so may choose to implement the reports themselves.
- 3. Sign-off
- Once the implementation is complete, we request that our clients formally sign-off the implementation - typically within a two week period. At this point we hand over the responsibility for licensed implementations to the client. Any additional work will then be covered under support arrangements.

Support
Following on from a successful implementation, WebAbacus will provide support to clients under a Support Level Agreement (SLA).
There are two main categories to our support process:
- Quarterly Review Meetings
- Once WebAbacus has been deployed to the client’s satisfaction, we can run quarterly account meetings to discuss their ongoing needs, and to ensure that things are running smoothly.
- On Going Support
- In addition to the above, we also offer 'supported users' access to online, email, telephone, and on-site support. As part of the initial implementation, we typically include a support pack of 8hrs (480 minutes), which is drawn down under a ticketing system - additional support packs can be purchased at anytime. This process is designed to facilitate knowledge transfer from the WebAbacus consultants to a clients internal resources, if applicable.

Additional Services
To complement the implementation process, we also offer:
- Developer Tag Workshops
- Web sites vary hugely and although implementing the WebAbacus tag code is an extremely quick and easy process, the specifics of data capture are often more complex. As such, we can run Tagging Workshops with your development team to ensure that the tagging is implemented correctly, and that all relevant data is captured.
- Duration: Typically 0.5 day.
- Pricing from: £425.00*
- Technical Consultancy
- To ensure that your web analytics data is being correctly captured, it may be beneficial to have a review of your web sites current technical framework. This can be especially true if you employ load balancing or security certificates (SSL), as these can have an impact on data collection.
- Duration: Typically 1 day.
- Pricing from: £850.00*
- Data Audits
- Data collection is the very heart of web analytics. If you are not capturing your data correctly, then no matter how sophisicated your reporting, it'll still be worthless! We provide data auditing services to help reduce the risk of data inaccuracies. These range from a 'quick check' of key page tagging to a complete site scan provided by our partner Maxamine
- Duration: Typically 0.5 day.
- Pricing from: £425.00*
- Facilitation with ABCe audits
- In addition to our own data auditing services, we also provide facilitation for ABCe audits, an independant third-party audit organisation.
- Details on request.
